 | McCort homestead Bessie Emerson [McCort] at doorstep, L to R: Lizzie, Annie, Margaret
When James McCort Jr. married Lucinda Allen, they moved into the home of his parents. At this time the building with 3 sheds was moved forward to include the door where Bessie Emerson is sitting. Shed #1 was closed in and had one window and became the summer kitchen. Shed #2 was closed in and had a door leading into the summer kitchen. At the back of shed #2 was a door leading to the outdoor toilet. Shed #3, not shown, became the wood shed. |
